CHICLAYO, THE BIGGEST HANGAR IN SOUTH AMERICA
Efebearquitectura has designed the largest hangar in South America, adjacent to Chiclayo airport, where major maintenance work is expected to be carried out on all aircraft used for international flights.
The building is called Hangar de Mantenimiento Aeronáutico Tipo C [Aircraft Maintenance Hangar Type C], following the bases and design criteria established in the Investment profile as part of the Pre-Investment Study, at a Feasibility level, of the “Improvement of the Lambayeque Region Airport Service, via the Modernization of CAPITÁN FAP JOSE ABELARDO QUIÑONEZ International Airport, Chiclayo” Project.
The hangar is located to the north of the passenger terminal on the air side, in lot N°09, with an area of 7,196 m2. It consists of three bays, i.e. with the capacity to park three type C aircraft (Airbus A318, Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Airbus A321 and Boeing 737) and to work on them simultaneously, with all the necessary and appropriate areas required for good servicing. These aircraft undergo a series of inspections at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer and determined by the airline, with the authorisation of the corresponding authority in Peru, the DGAC.
