New travel retail project by FB arquitectura
We present a new travel retail project by FB arquitectura at Barcelona Airport. The project was developed for our client, Select Service Partner S.A. (SSP), for an Enrique Tomás outlet.
The new space is located in the Module U boarding area of Terminal 2 at Barcelona Airport. With a total area of 45.02 m², it has been designed as an open island-style kiosk integrated into the terminal’s passenger circulation areas.
Our work included the detailed design, construction management and project management. Portico was responsible for the construction works.
An open space integrated into the terminal

The project transforms a previously unused area into a new Enrique Tomás retail outlet. As an island-style kiosk, it remains open to the terminal’s circulation areas and integrates naturally into the airport’s commercial environment.
The kiosk is organised around an independent metal structure that defines its different operational areas. The space includes a storage area, back office, customer service counter and seating area.
In addition, the project incorporates the furniture and equipment required for the operation of the outlet. The intervention does not alter the overall configuration of the existing terminal space.
A new travel retail project in Barcelona

This project allows us to further expand our experience in developing travel retail spaces. In this context, architecture must respond to the needs of the establishment while integrating into an environment with a continuous flow of passengers.
Construction began on 25 May 2026 and was completed on 1 July 2026.
With this new project, FB arquitectura continues to expand its experience in commercial architecture and travel retail, supporting its clients in the development and delivery of new spaces.
