Functional architecture and brand design in the airport environment
Located at Tenerife South Airport, the new Enrique Tomás space combines brand identity, functionality, and construction efficiency. In addition, it responds to the demands of a dynamic airport environment.
Developed by FBarquitectura, the project includes the execution phase, site supervision, and project management. As a result, the design creates a 425 m² environment that offers travelers a comfortable and visually engaging experience.
At its core lies a main bar open to the public. Next to it, there is an area dedicated to product display and tasting. Meanwhile, the inner section houses the workspaces, including the kitchen, storage, and service areas. In this way, the layout ensures fluid circulation and clear zoning between public and operational spaces.
Designed to make the most of the existing terminal structure, the space integrates seamlessly into the departure lounge. Consequently, it enhances the commercial area without altering the building’s main architectural elements.
Materials and atmosphere – Enrique Tomás at Tenerife South Airport
The design embraces material honesty and constructive clarity. High-performance vinyl flooring, natural wood paneling, silestone surfaces, and metallic finishes ensure durability and easy maintenance.
Moreover, the decision to leave the installations exposed in the public area gives the space an industrial and contemporary character. Thus, it perfectly aligns with the brand’s visual identity.
Efficiency, accessibility, and compliance
The project complies with Spain’s Technical Building Code (CTE) and AENA’s technical requirements. In addition, it integrates solutions that guarantee universal accessibility, fire safety, energy efficiency, and acoustic comfort.
Therefore, the result is a space that is safe, comfortable, and sustainable for both staff and users.
A brand experience in transit
The Enrique Tomás store strengthens the brand’s presence across Spain’s main airports. Furthermore, it reinforces its concept of high-quality, fast casual dining.
Through this intervention, FBarquitectura transforms a technical and operational space into a recognizable sensory experience. In doing so, architecture enhances visibility, flow, and brand identity.
